a) Avoiding the foods and situations that seem to cause
indigestion is the most successful way to treat it. Excess stomach acid does not cause or result from indigestion, so antacids are not an appropriate
treatment, although some people report that they do help. Smokers can help relieve their indigestion by quitting smoking, or at least not smoking right before
eating. Exercising with a full stomach may cause indigestion, so scheduling exercise before a meal or at least an hour afterward might help.
b) For fast relief from the discomfort of indigestion you can add one teaspoon baking soda is water and the water needs to be consumed. This therapy
provides instant relief in indigestion problem.
c) Plain old pineapple juice is another effective homemade treatment for indigestion. Pineapple contains an enzyme called Bromelain. Bromelain helps your
body break down and digest food.
e) Papaya (Fruit and Leaves). Papaya is one of those ordinary plants with surprising potency in combating digestive disorders and calming down a disturbed
gastrointestinal tract. Its powerful enzyme, papain, helps to breakdown complex proteins, reducing the digestive load on the stomach.
f) Fennel (saunph) which is used as a mouth freshener after meals is basically a digestive. Chewing a few seeds after a meal clears the food passages apart
from aiding digestion.
g) Yogic asanas such as ardhmatsyasana, sarvangasana, uttanpadasana, pavanmuktasana, vajrasana, yogamudra, bhujangasana, shalabhasana and shavasana are
very beneficial.
h) Drink a glass of water with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to aid digestion and to avoid indigestion.
i) Take a walk with the family thirty minutes after eating to burn off some calories. Or play ball with the children outside. Exercise aids digestion.
