imageHi everyone! My name is heather and I am a brand spanking new member here and actually signed up just to share this with all of you!

I've read in many places that they don't really know what causes KP and treatments may or may not work and then they tell you "it's not harmful"....any girl who has it can tell you it's quite harmful, even if it doesn't make you sick.

I've had KP my whole life. On and off and sometimes would go very long without it. And yes, in the winter it does get worse, but still, why does it happen in the first place? I've recently learned that I have a high sensitivity to gluten, and EVERY SINGLE PERSON that I have talked to that has KP and gluten sensitivity, intolerance, or celiac disease gets complete relief once they go on the gluten free diet! I've been gluten free for a month now and the KP completely cleared up. I accidentally ingested some gluten this week and not only did I get sick as a dog, I have KP worse than I have ever had it in my life. Seriously. It's the darndest thing you've ever seen. If you do any research, don't be scared off when you see "celiac", it's caused from gluten sensitivity and the terms are unfortunately used interchangeably a lot - really the difference being that in celiac there is damage to the small intestine. Everything else is pretty much the same, so the stuff you read can still apply most of the time. NOT nearly everyone with gluten sensitivity develops celiac - seriously, don't let that one scare you off, just think in your mind "gluten sensitivity". It's just worse in some people than others and where there's groups of people with similar symptoms, the symptoms can WIDELY vary from some having none at all, to some becoming full blown celiac and having all kinds of other issues. Even if this post only helps one person out there who reads this goes gluten free and not only gets relief from the KP, but also the host of other unexplainable problems which are going on with you that are making people around you think your crazy, then I could honestly not be happier. It is unimaginable the differences already in my life and I still have a ways to go in the healing process. Many best wishes and hopes of finding relief to each of you!!!image

By the way, even though I am very new to this new world of gluten sensitivity, celiac, and eating gluten free, I am more than welcome to share anything that I do know. You can email me anytime at bluekaleidascope@yahoo.com. I'll answer you if I can and try to point you in the right direction if I can't.
