Hi, I am new to this forum, and I feel a bit hopeless. I have read the info. and I saw a dermatogoist... useless, by the way. My father has KP (I think) and I have had it for almost a year. I'm 29! What gives? Will it go away, and does anyone have a good treatment???? I have used salex, KP duty, and I have exfoliated. HELP....
I've had KP for years, and it's definitely a battle to "control" the bumps! How long did you use the treatments that you've tried?
This is what I've been doing... I've been using "Kiss My Face" Bar Soap with Olive Oil & Aloe, and St. Ives "Medicated" Apricot Scrub in the shower on my KP areas. After my shower I use the KP Duty... this routine has really helped reduce the bumps.
I've noticed that in my case, it takes a multi-treatment approach to see any improvement. If I stop treatment, they come back in full force and mutiply in number!
I am in my 30's with kp. I was recommended by my derm to try the Neutrogena Skin Smoothing Body Lotion and/or the Glytone Keratosis Pilaris Kit. Up to this point I haven't really tried anything to help mine yet, so I hope one or the other clears mine up!
I believe what works for one person's KP doesn't necessarily work for another. I've tried various products myself! Right now I'm seeing good results with Dr. Brandt Pore Effect.
Try this link to get ideas on how to deal with KP. I have recently come across a combo that is working for me. The KP is simply just going away. makeupalley.com/user/notepad/sencha/
This has really helped me after only one week. Years of AmLactin and Lacthydrin did little for my cracked heels, but Salex is really working... quickly.
I'm 44 and just got diagnosed. My periods have gotten shorter so I know my hormone levels are dropping and maybe that has something to do with it in my case. The 6% salicyclic acid lotion prescribed by my dermatologist is working very well after 30 days on it. I recommend that with any prescrip you give it 30 days before giving up. If it STILL does not work then call your dermatologist and ask to have something else called in for you. Don't give up - there are so many prescrip products out there to try that you have a good chance of finding one that will work.
