For as long as I can remember I have had what I thought to be acne on my buttocks (I'm gonna' call it bum for short). I have been to skin doctors in the past for problems with my facial complexion but I was too embarassed to mention my bum so I kept it to myself (and hid by bum from boyfriends as best I could). Just last night I finally Googled "bumps on buttocks" and found out about KP. It all made sense in an instant. I have always had these bumps on my upper arms and thighs....

Is it normal to have KP only on your butt? I am currently trying to diagnose what I have always thought were pimples on my butt (but am now not convinced, since ance topical treatments have not worked and it is not really like other acne). Next I wondered if it was folliculitis and now found out about KP and see how it resembles that.

Any suggestions how I can diagnose this properly so I treat it properly?

For anyone with somekind off gym facility near them try working out your legs (leg presses, leg extensions, etc.) I worked on my legs for about 30 mins a day for a week, but after the first day the "acne" part was gone and after about a week even the little red spots seemed to be disapearing. If you are really dedicated try this out, it takes some hard work but it gets rid of it really well. And remember, no pain, no gain, work them hard. Good Luck.
