This is my first time on this site. I developed KP after my first child (if I had it before I was unaware as it was not noticeable) and do not have any family history of it. I had it all over my legs and arms, and went to my Dr who misdiagnosed me. I suffered with it for a year and picked at it constantly, so I had scars for a year after that. It did clear up on its own however.

After recently giving birth to my second child, I have developed KP AGAIN. This time I went immediately to a Dermatologist who gave me Clindamycin, and Lacoid Lipocream. I use each two times a day. He also recommended the Clarisonic Plus, which is a electric face/body brush. I use the body attachment in the shower once daily, and use the topicals prescribed by my Dr immediately after. It has been 4 days and I am already seeing improvement! The Clarisonic exfoliates (the trick is not to apply pressure), and helps the topicals absorb better. Also, it comes with a face brush which clears up...

My problem areas are the back of my upper arms and my buttocks. Not soo much redness but bumpy from the hair folicles getting clogged. I tried adding a little
bleach to bath (this is approved treatment for eczema with no success. I even tried rubbing bleach directly on the areas - I don't know if this can be
harmful or not but anyway it didn't help me either. I'm now using Salicylic acid about 23% and it IS unclogging the folicles.

You can buy it without prescription as wart remover, it's the main ingredient. I'm just passing it along but again I don't know if it can be
harmful since I'm using it off label.

Hello. My name is Lisa, I am 38 years old and have had Keratosis Pilaris for as long as I can remember.
I found 3 products that worked great and I'm now 98% Keratosis Pilaris FREE!!!

I had read that apple cider vinegar (acv) works so I tried it. I used Raw, Unfiltered Organic ACV (found in the organic section at the grocery store). I took
a cotton pad and applied it on my clean skin at night before going to bed. Within 2 days my skin had a HUGE improvement!(ACV works nicely on facial blemishes
also). However, yes, there is an ordor so I went in search of something else natural and inexpensive.

I found two soaps that work great.
Zum soap (I used the peppermint lavendar) had a wonderful effect on my skin all over, especially my arms. It is a little expensive so I decided to try Dr
Bronner liquid soap (peppermint) and it works great!
I've been using this for a month and the Keratosis Pilaris is just about gone. Finally!

Hi everyone,

I have just tried this product called 'The Scar Secret' ( you can read about it here - http://bit.ly/removalofscars [safe website dont worry I just shortened the address because it was so long lol] ) and would
like to give an open, honest review about it.

I've had a scar on my lower stomach for almost 4 years now after I had a kidney removed. It was quite large and jagged and I could not go to the beach
because of fear of embarassment. Nothing worked to remove it. Scar removal oils did nothing. Those creams did even less.

After four weeks of trying The Scar Secret my scar began to fade significantly. By five weeks it had gone completely and the skin was smooth and soft.

This is a very high quality product and I highly recommend it to anyone suffering from scars. =) It is most certainly the internet's best keep secret in

Hi, I'm a 22-year-old with kp fairly well spread out on my body, including arms, legs, and even a little under my jaw line! I had little success with the
Lubriderm brand lotion w/AHA, it only made my skin smoother when the lotion was on. I've had short-term success with the Eucerin brand lotion that's
suggested on this website, it make smy skin softer for a few days after I put the lotion on. But if I'm out doing lots of physical activity, the Eucerin
lotion makes other parts of my body break out, like lower back and chest. Can anyone recommend a lotion I can put all-over so the rest of my skin doesn't
dry out, but isn't too greasy, and still works on kp? I'd rather not have to use two different lotions for different parts of my body. Thanks!

For the some what long 17 years of my life, I've suffered from acne. About two years ago I
saw a dermatologist for the first time ever. I thought my only problem was acne. That was when

I found I was diagnosed with KP. I have acne and KP on my back, chest, arms, face, etc. The doctor gave me some samples of cream, gel, and pills to take to
help clear up my skin. It seemed to start to work during the short time I used them, but suddenly my cheeks became very red and lumpy looking as if I had
severe acne. I figured it was some sort of bad reaction to the pills so I stopped taking them. I havent gone back to a dermatologist to try something new yet.
I feel very ashamed, ugly, and embarrassed in my skin, I don't know what to do to help clear up my skin. I apply makeup to my face everyday, but my skin
goes from being very dry to very very oily after only a few hours.

Hi everyone,

I feel I should share this as my kp caused me so much torment for so many years.
I'm delighted to have made this discovery and hope it might help other people.
Dairy was causing mine (ie milk and anything made from milk).
I would DEFINITELY recommend you try cutting out dairy, and foods with milk/dairy ingredients, to see if it makes a difference for you.
It took about a week and a half / 2 weeks for me to notice the improvement. The difference in mine is unbelievable, I still haven't gotten over the novelty
of how comfortable I feel wearing t-shirts or sleevless tops now!
I have MUCH less bumps, the few bumps I do have are flatter, smaller, and the same colour as my normal skin. To quantify it, on a scale of 1 - 100, I would say
the way my kp was with dairy in my diet was a 90, and now, its a 10.

My toddler (2 1/2) was diagnosed with KP recently. She has it everywhere, not just the typical arms and legs and cheeks. She has the goosebump texture all
over her body, including the tops of the hands, feet, back, chest, arms, legs, etc. Her KP is not terribly "irritated" or red, mostly just bumpy.
She was prescribed LacHydrin but she cries when we apply it. I'm assuming the AHA burns. My question is about herdity . . . Neither my husband or I have
this. There is nobody in my immediate family or his that have this, including either maternal/paternal grandparents. How far back the genetic chain can this
go?

(As a side note, I'm a huge believer/fan of "Corona Ointment" from Summit Industries as a "cure all" for anything skin related. We are
going to try it on her instead of the LacHydrin. It's thick and requires clothing over top of it or it will be on everything, but it's worth a try.
It cured her MRSA skin...
